Council Grove’s featured community festival is getting underway Thursday.
Washunga Days begins with a free community night, including food trucks, a beer garden, a rock wall and music from Colton Elsen and Ken England.
The Friday schedule has several concerts, including the Dirty Bourbon Band, Joe Marson, BC and the Big Rig and Sunset Sinners. Food trucks and the beer garden return, and Friday also marks the start of the intertribal powwow.
Saturday’s event schedule runs all day, with a petting zoo, dunk tank, 10 am parade, laser tag, a car show, artisan and crafts fair, the conclusion of the powwow and a host of concerts — including music from Beaux Jenkins, Steel Scarecrow, Anthony Juarez and 68 Overpass, Raquel and The Wildflowers, Blue Water Highway and John King.
