Emporia High graduate and future Emporia State Lady Hornet Addie Kirmer scored 17 points to lead the Blue Team in a 102-60 victory over the Gold Team in the KBCA All-Star Game held Saturday at Mabee Arena in Salina.
Kirmer played 17 minutes and was 6 of 11 from the field and a perfect 5-for-5 from the free-throw line. Joining Kirmer on the Blue Team was Lebo’s Audrey Peek who scored seven points on 3 of 6 shooting and added four assists. Peek has signed to play volleyball and basketball at Allen Community College. Emporia State signee Makenzie McDaniel of Silver Lake and Elizabeth Tjaden of Clearwater were also on the Blue Team. McDaniel recorded a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds in 17 minutes, while Tjaden played 16 minutes and did not score. For the Gold Team, Burlingame’s Kaylin Noonan, an Emporia State signee, had five points and four rebounds in 16 minutes. Emma Mitchell, an Emporia State signee from Rossville, joined Noonan on the Gold Team, scored seven points, and grabbed three rebounds in 14 minutes.
In the boys game, it was the Gold Team defeating the Blue Team, 100-93. Emporia State signee and Ellsworth product Will Cravens led the Gold Team with 19 points and seven rebounds on 7 of 10 shooting off the bench in 22 minutes of action. Lyndon’s Jalen Massey joined Cravens on the Gold Team and scored four points and grabbed three rebounds in 18 minutes of action. Massey has signed to play football at Washburn. Lebo’s Grayson Shoemaker scored eight points for the Blue Team in 18 minutes of action. Shoemaker has signed to play basketball at Southwestern.
