A Eureka man was hospitalized after a crash in western Greenwood County on Monday morning.
Sheriff Heath Samuels says the wreck developed shortly before 6:20 am on US Highway 54 about seven miles west of Eureka. A pickup driven by 28-year-old Wyatt Logan of Eureka and a semi driven by 25-year-old Ethan Malloy of Humboldt were both westbound when Logan’s truck slowed down for a trio of westbound cyclists. Malloy’s semi did not slow down in time and hit Logan’s vehicle.
Debris from Logan’s truck hit one of the cyclists, 35-year-old Bradlee Duffy of Florida.
Logan was taken to Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka with suspected serious injuries. Malloy was treated on scene and released. Duffy was not hurt.
