Part of Kansas Highway 99 north of Emporia will be repaved starting Monday.
The Kansas Department of Transportation has a chip seal project set to last until perhaps July 8, weather permitting. Crews will not work on July 4.
The project zone is from Kansas Highway 170 north to US Highway 56, a distance of nine miles. Traffic will be constricted to one lane in the “active work area,” with a pilot car and flaggers getting drivers through the work zone. Delays of up to 15 minutes may happen.
Vance Brothers of Kansas City, Missouri, won the contract with a $430,000 bid.
