The Sertoma Club’s miniature train in Soden’s Grove could well be busier than normal in July.
Why? Free train rides, courtesy of Kent and Natalie Schnakenberg.
The free rides go all month, and the donation is appreciated by club members. It also stirs fond memories of the train for Schnakenberg and members of the club. On KVOE’s Morning Show, Schnakenberg says he remembers standing in the Soden’s Grove parking lot with his brothers.
Club spokesperson Terri Summey says she was new to town when she saw the train for the first time.
The club runs the miniature train four days a week: Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 6:30-8:30 pm and Thursdays from 9-11 am.
