Street repair times have not been announced after part of West Sixth Avenue was damaged by a water main break Saturday morning.
The break was reported shortly after 8 am and involved West Sixth, also US Highway 50, between Arundel and Oak. The failure forced the city of Emporia to block the westbound inside lane and the center turn lane as repairs continue. Eastbound traffic is currently unaffected.
Separate water main breaks were also reported Saturday near Fifth and Sherman and in the 1500 block of Washington.

Traffic adjustments will be needed on part of West Sixth Avenue after a water main break Saturday.
The break was reported shortly after 8 am and involves West Sixth, also US Highway 50, between Arundel and Oak. The pavement has water bubbling through it for westbound traffic using the inside lane. Water is also bubbling through the sidewalk on both sides of the street.
The city of Emporia says westbound traffic on West Sixth will be reduced to one lane.
There is a separate break in the 1500 block of Washington underway Saturday morning.
Water service will likely be impacted in both areas until further notice.
