Emporia City Commissioners are convening a day earlier than normal for their regular action and study meetings this week.
Commissioners will convene Tuesday at 11 am for their regular action meeting inside of the Municipal Courtroom at White Auditorium. Only three items are on the agenda including a resolution to establish a public hearing to possibly declare the Gazette Building Development as a Reinvestment Housing Incentive District (RHID) in downtown Emporia.
If approved, the public hearing will take place on August 7. Separately, commissioners will consider approving the purchase of a new tractor for the Parks Department.
Commissioners will also consider accepting a Kansas Department of Transportation KAIP grant for an expansion of the Emporia Airprot’s apron. If approved, the grant would provide $114,000 for design and $792,000 for construction costs.
In study matters, the only item on the agenda will be for commissioners to determine the city’s revenue-neutral rate. The study session will convene in city conference room 1AB following adjournment of the action session.
