The Kansas Highway Patrol says it will have an extra presence on highways across the state this week.
Capt. Candice Breshears says there will be additional troopers on patrol, looking for safe driving practices or violations like impaired driving, speeding and other “crash-causing” violations.
Breshears also says drivers need to make sure their vehicles work properly if they have any travel plans this week. Also, any travels should start with a full tank of gas, a fully-charged cell phone and an emergency supply kit.
Breshears also advised travelers to check their routes ahead of schedule by going online to kandrive.org. If they run into vehicle trouble on those trips, they can call the Highway Patrol for assistance at *47 or the Kansas Turnpike Authority at *582.
