“Keep moving forward” is a mantra many of us use for life matters, whether those or other words are used.
It’s also the mantra — at least for now — for travelers on the Kansas Turnpike, now that cashless tolling has started. Chief Executive Officer Steve Hewitt mentioned why that approach was important for Turnpike purposes on KVOE’s Talk of Emporia this week:
Hewitt also says removing the tollbooths, which will happen over the next 18 months, is a safety benefit for drivers.
Hewitt also said Emporia’s tollbooth could be demolished and nearby lanes reconfigured by end of this upcoming fall.
Cashless tolling rolled out smoothly, according to Hewitt — following five years of construction and another five years of conversation and planning. Information is available online at driveks.com.
