Bernie Toso says it’s time to disengage — somewhat — from his involvement with Emporia’s annual fireworks show.
Toso has been either a volunteer or the leader of Emporia’s annual pyrotechnics display for almost 20 years.
Toso closed out his time as lead pyrotechnician with a better than 20-minute show, including a new opening with a pair of firewalls similar to what people may see at college or pro football games or music concerts.
Toso will continue his work as a building inspector with the city of Emporia and as a DJ.
