The Alliance for a Healthy Kansas is hosting a combination BINGO and community conversation event Tuesday night.
The event will begin at 7 pm at the Trussler Business Center, 719 Commercial Street, and will feature a discussion on Medicaid expansion. At the end of the evening, one participant will go home with a Stanley Tumbler.
Tuesday’s event comes after Medicaid expansion failed to see any action during the recent legislative session despite indications and hopes from Kansas Governor Laura Kelly it would have the support to at least see a vote. At this time, Kansas remains one of only 10 states in the US that has yet to expand Medicaid.
According to a news release from the Kansas Health Institute, if passed, Medicaid expansion would lead to affordable healthcare access for right around 150,000 Kansans.
Tuesday’s event is open to all ages and attendees can RSVP to save their BINGO card by visiting the Alliance for a Healthy Kansas website expandkankare.com.
