With the primary election now less than a month away, KVOE is gearing up for its annual series of candidate forums beginning next week.
The primary forums begin Tuesday and will feature the Republican candidates for the Kansas House 60th District Representative seat, incumbent Mark Schreiber and challenger Will Spencer. Next Thursday, our focus will be on the Kansas 17th District Senate seat and will feature Republican hopefuls Mike Argabright and David Schneider.
Attention will shift to the Lyon County Commission series of races on Tuesday, July 16 when we feature second district incumbent Republican Doug Peck and challenger Sid Morgan. Republican hopefuls for the commission’s third district seat, set to be vacated by longtime commission chairman Rollie Martin at the end of his current term, will join our forum on Tuesday, July 23.
Candidates will include Chris Bartel, Warren Schmidt, Jarom Smith and Jon Vopat. We will close out the series of primary forums on Thursday, July 25 with Republican Lyon County Sheriff Jeff Cope and challenger Daniel Klingensmith. All forums will air from 10:05 am to 11:00 am and will be available in the KVOE.com audio vault following their completion.
The primary election is scheduled for Tuesday, August 6.
