KVOE News began its Candidate Forum series by profiling the Republican candidates for the Kansas House 60th District.
Incumbent Mark Schreiber says he has the experience needed to best serve the district.
Challenger Will Spencer says his business experience running Nature’s Paradise and the lessons learned during his City Commission run last year will help if he’s elected.
One longstanding issue for lawmakers has been whether to expand Medicaid. Spencer suggested a conversation on revamping KanCare.
Schreiber has been an expansion supporter for years.
Attention turns to the Kansas Senate 17th District for our next Candidate Forum at 10:06 am Thursday. Republicans Mike Argabright and David Schneider will appear. Both are hoping to represent the district with the retirement of longtime Senator Jeff Longbine.
Candidate Forums return July 16 with the Lyon County Commission Second District, along with the County Commission Third District forum on July 23 and the Sheriff forum on July 25. All forums this primary election cycle deal with the contested Republican races.
All forums begin at 10:06 am and will be in the KVOE.com Audio Vault after their completion.
