Community members have another option to get a meal during the lunchtime hours.
The Emporia Senior Center began having popup meals on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Emporia Senior Center Director Carla Fessler was approached by the Social Innovation Lab to host a pop-up restaurant. Fessler says input to get this started was huge and another way for community members to get a meal at a budget-friendly cost.
Another activity the senior center will be providing later this month is Brain Break Fridays.
Fessler says this will be for community members who need respite care and have dementia. Fessler says Erin Blocker and Angels Homehealth who already do a dementia group saw a big need for another group.
Brain Break Fridays will begin on July 26.
