A short law enforcement pursuit in Emporia on Sunday has led to a variety of criminal charges against an Emporia man.
Marquise Roberto Richardson is facing eight counts, leading off with single counts of distributing 100 grams to a kilogram of cocaine, at least 450 grams of marijuana and up to 1,000 dosage units of LSD. Richardson is also charged with possessing paraphernalia, interference with law enforcement and domestic battery.
Emporia Police officers say the formal charges follow an incident that developed initially as a domestic battery call in east Emporia early Sunday afternoon. Officers say they chased Richardson from the East 12th Avenue Dollar General to the Whittier Place Apartments before arresting him.
Richardson’s first appearance is at 1:15 pm Wednesday in Lyon County District Court.
