There was a big crowd for the Emporia Municipal Band’s regular-season finale at Fremont Park on Thursday. And they liked what they heard.
The band performed a nearly-normal length set before the 35th Infantry Division Band of Olathe performed its own set. The bands then played together at the end of the show.
While the regular season concerts are now done for the year, the Municipal Band will have concerts before the end of the year. Conductor Nancy Riecker says the band will have its annual Christmas concert at the Emporia Granada Theatre. It’s also planning an All Veterans Tribute concert, although the location is currently pending.
