A fire developed in south Emporia on Thursday, destroying a shed and all its contents.
The fire was reported at South and West around 11:30 am. Emporia Fire responded and discovered the fire in a shed on the south side of South between Rural and West.
Emporia Fire Battalion Chief Eron Steinlage tells KVOE News the shed was fully engulfed in flames, especially the roof area, as crews arrived. The firefighting effort was hampered to a degree because of access. Steinlage says firefighters had to work through a fence and around from the north side of the shed to the south side so they could get in the building and attack the fire.
Nobody was hurt. Word on a cause and origination point is pending.
