Rain chances are slight for most of the rest of Thursday, with another slight chance of showers and storms Thursday night.
Hot conditions become the main concern for the next several days. After highs in the low 90s Thursday, high temperatures should be in the upper 90s Friday and Saturday and at or above 100 Sunday through Tuesday. Residents are encouraged to drink higher levels of water than normal leading into the high heat period, as well as wear light, loose-fitting clothing, plan for repeated breaks in shade or air conditioning if they work outside and change schedules so any strenuous projects happen in the morning or evening hours if possible.
Stay with KVOE, KVOE.com and KVOE social media for updates. If you have rain totals, message the Bluestem Farm and Ranch text line at 620-342-5863.
