A Greenwood County business is getting a massive federal grant as it looks to build a production facility.
Real Kansas Meats LLC is getting nearly $6.9 million in federal funding through the US Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development Division. The money will help Real Kansas Meats build and equip a slaughter and fabrication facility in Fall River. It will also help the company get a grant of inspection.
Nearly 120 jobs could be created with this project.
Kansas Rural Development Director Christy Davis says this investment and another grant in Kanorado are designed to lower food costs, increase food processing capacity and strengthen the food supply chain.
