ESU Police and Safety officers continue their investigation into the discovery of a body Monday morning.
According to Director of Media Relations + Internal Communication Gwen Larson, ESU Police and Safety, Emporia/Lyon County EMS and Lyon County deputies got a report of a suspicious person or possible medical emergency in the tunnel running under Interstate 35 shortly after 7 am. They arrived and found an unattended death.
Foul play is not suspected.
ESU Police and Safety does not plan to release any more information about this incident.

Emporia State Police and Safety is investigating after a body was found on campus.
University Director of Media Relations and Internal Communication Gwen Larson says the body was found Monday morning in the tunnel under Interstate 35, which connects the main campus to a number of practice fields, the Prophet Aquatic Research and Outreach Center, King Lake and the Trusler Sports Complex.
All other details are currently pending.
The tunnel was available for use before 10:30 am.
