Work continues on Road F on the west edge of Emporia’s Industrial Park IV.
The City Engineering Department says Road 180 will be closed at F beginning next week and continuing through the rest of the project, possibly into September or early October. This follows the first lift of asphalt paving late last month and concrete curb-and-gutter work earlier this month. Sidewalk and entrance work will follow.
Besides the road improvements from a two-lane gravel road into a three-lane curb-and-gutter asphalt street, the improvements include storm sewer installation and a new 10-foot-wide hike-and-bike path. The work zone involves F between US Highway 50 and Road 180.
