Broadband internet access in Coffey County will be more readily available after a recent funding announcement by the state.
Governor Laura Kelly says KwiKom (Quick-Comm) is getting $950,000 in Broadband Acceleration Grant funding to help connect over 150 residents. The company is matching that amount with over $1.2 million.
The funds announced Friday total $10 million in grants along with nearly $13 million in matching funds. This is part of the 10-year, $85 million state grant program announced in 2020 designed to expand broadband access statewide. Friday’s announcement signals over $41 million in total investment for the state’s broadband network.
