Court proceedings have begun for an Oklahoma woman who was allegedly in possession of more than 80,000 pills believed to be fentanyl as well as other drug materials following a traffic stop in Lyon County last week.
Preanna Caprice Smith of Tulsa, Oklahoma made her first appearance in Lyon County District Court Monday afternoon and was set for a preliminary hearing at 2:30 pm August 5 before Judge Doug Jones. Smith faces two charges of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance one for at least a kilogram of cocaine and the other for at least 250 dosage units of a fentanyl-related substance.
Following the announcement of formal charges, the Kansas Highway Patrol revealed to KVOE Monday that during the traffic stop this past Wednesday, Smith was found to be allegedly in possession of approximately two kilos of cocaine and more than 80,000 pills believed to be fentanyl. Three pills believed to be ecstasy were also located according to KHP Captain Candice Breshears.
Breshears says no additional information regarding the case will be released through KHP at this time.
