If you have basic questions about Medicare operations or are looking to join Medicare, you’re invited to a pair of events in Emporia this week.
Certified SHICK, or Senior Health Insurance Counselor for Kansas, counselor Karen Mayse will give a Medicare basics seminar starting at 5:30 pm Tuesday at the Fairgrounds Bowyer Building. On Wednesday, Mayse moves to the Friendship Center, 221 West Logan, to take individual Medicare appointments on a first-come, first-served basis.
Mayse’s appearance in Emporia follows a similar visit last month, as well as KVOE’s most recent Medicare Minute — which focused on items like Medicare’s payment policy for annual screenings.
Both activities in Emporia this week are free to attend, but residents are encouraged to set appointments by calling the North Central-Flint Hills Area on Aging at 800-432-2703 or by going online to ncfhaaa.com.
