Work continues on Emporia’s 24th and Prairie waterline replacement project, and a water main break has been reported north of that construction zone.
Around 11 am, Public Works crews were dispatched to the corner of Prairie and Redwood, or about a block north of the Prairie Street bridge over Interstate 35. City staff say homes could be without water service south and west of the failure point, including Redwood from Willow Lane to Prairie and Willow from Apple to Redwood.
Service restoration times are currently pending.
