The Lyon County Fair is quickly approaching with a kickoff event set for later this week.
The Friends of 4-H Picnic is set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Anderson Building.
Lyon County Extension Horticulturalist Travis Carmichael says the flow of the evening will start with the potluck dinner with pulled pork with much more to follow.
The first grandstand event for the fair is the Ranch Rodeo set for 7 p.m. Sunday. Also on Sunday is the Horse Show at 8:30 a.m. with the Pee Wee Rodeo at 4 p.m.
Carmichael says his favorite part of the fair is seeing the people who have helped with the festivities over the years and seeing only them during this time of the year.
KVOE will have extensive coverage of the Lyon County Fair, including 4-H show reports, animal shows streaming on KVOE TV, and grandstand event remotes.
Fair information is available at lyoncountyfairks.org and on the Lyon County Fair Facebook page.
