Emporia City Engineer Jim Ubert says the annual Street Rehab project is going well.
On KVOE’s Newsmaker segment Monday, Ubert said there are still some important work zones yet to handle, including several around local businesses.
Meanwhile, Ubert says there is visible progress for the Interstate 35 bridge replacement effort over Lincoln Street. State crews have installed what’s called sheet piling as a way to hold the highway embankment in place, while half of the box culvert bridge has been removed.
