A California resident was hurt in a crash northeast of Emporia on Tuesday.
Lyon County Sgt. Doug Stump says the crash happened shortly after 1 pm in the 2100 block of Burlingame Road, about three miles northeast of Emporia. The crash developed as 22-year-old Angel Tejada of Van Nuys, California, was driving a semi and got distracted for unlisted reasons. The semi went off the road and rolled onto its passenger side.
Tejada was not listed as injured, but 24-year-old Tahjreal Cornelius of California was listed as ejected and possibly hurt. Cornelius was taken to Newman Regional Health for treatment.
The semi was hauling food products. Origination and destination points have not been announced.
