The drug distribution case against an Oklahoma woman arrested last month in Lyon County may well go federal.
Preanna Caprice Smith, a resident of Tulsa, had been charged with distributing fentanyl and cocaine after a traffic stop in Lyon County last month. Smith had been accused of possessing two kilograms of cocaine and more than 80,000 pills believed to be fentanyl when she was arrested.
All counts were dropped after a preliminary hearing in Emporia on Monday. Assistant County Attorney Ashley McGee says the stage is set for federal prosecutors to handle the case going forward, although nothing has listed on the government’s Public Access to Court Electronic Records, or PACER, system.
