There is some good news for Emporia drivers working around a number of planned and unplanned construction zones this summer.
Portions of West 12th Avenue damaged by a series of water main breaks a week ago have reopened to traffic. Breaks developed at West and Washington and near Walnut on Aug. 2. All three repair zones are now open.
The break on West near 12th has has flowable fill but has not been topped off with concrete, so that remains closed. The same can be said for a break on 15th near Sherwood. There is no word on when those areas can be finished and reopened.
