As has been the case for the past several years, the final hours of the 2024 Jones Aquatic Center swim season saw the facility go to the dogs.
The pool hosted its annual pooch plunge to close out the season Sunday with dogs of all breeds and sizes having the chance to take a dip with their owners between the late afternoon and early evening hours. Emporia Recreation Commission Aquatics Supervisor Jennifer Wegener says the plunge is always a great way to close down the year.
Looking back on the 2024 swim season, Wegener says it was a great year at JAC noting attendance was high from start to finish.
Before the pooch plunge, the pool hosted its annual Final Fiesta which included a free swim and half price on selected concession items.
