The final week of fundraising for the 2024 SOS Strong campaign is here.
SOS Community Relations Director Cara Codney spoke with KVOE News Monday and says several events are coming up over the next week to help bring in more dollars for SOS.
12 ambassadors were selected for this year’s fundraiser all of whom were charged with trying to raise at least $1,000 each and took an oath to lead by example, not to blame victims or engage in any acts of violence, stand up for those in need, be positive upstanders, and to always speak up for what is right. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the fundraiser and Codney says that over the last decade, SOS Strong has generated a lot of dollars towards the SOS mission, but it has also created significant awareness for that mission, which she says is just as important.
This year’s ambassadors are as follows:
*Sinjin Andrews
*Scott Capes
*Joe Corn
*Jared Germann
*Andrew Hawley
*John Koelsch
*Deon Morrow
*Kerry Moyer
*Joel Obando
*Bryon Rosine
*Brent Thomas
*Owen Reed
SOS Strong will conclude next Monday, however, donations will still be accepted through the annual celebration dinner which is scheduled for next Thursday, August 22 at Champions Landing. All former SOS Strong ambassadors are invited to attend the celebration as is the community.
