The David Traylor Zoo has a new director.
Brenda Young comes to Emporia after serving at the eight-acre Capron Park Zoo in Attleboro, Massachusetts. Young has experience in zoo operations, budgets, revenue generation, public and media relations, guest services and collection planning. She has been serving as Capron Park’s assistant director since 2014.
Young begins in her new role Monday.
Young will supplant Lisa Keith, who announced her retirement in March after over 30 years with the zoo, including the past 16 as director.
