Trial has been delayed in the case of an Emporia man accused of child rape in Wichita.
John Robert Burton had trial set to begin as soon as Monday in Sedgwick County District Court, but trial has now been pushed to start Sept. 16. A motion hearing has been set for Sept. 13 in Burton’s case.
Burton stands accused of single counts of rape and aggravated indecent liberties involving a child under the age of 14. The case is sealed.
