The Emporia State campus has “Hornets back in the hive.”
Fall semester classes have started at ESU, and Provost Brent Thomas says has noticed an extra buzz on campus — in part because of early construction on the Nursing + Student Wellness Center.
The tentative plan is to have the better than $20 million facility ready for classes by the start of the fall 2025 semester.
Meanwhile, ESU rolled out a number of new or reconfigured scholarships over the last eight months. Thomas says the student reaction to the new scholarship opportunities are “all positive,” and he believes there will be a bigger impact on enrollment next year.
Besides the start of classes, Emporia State is getting ready for the first Friday Night event of the fall at Champions Landing this upcoming Friday and the Downtown Live at the Hive on Saturday.
