Emporia’s first 24-7 daycare facility is opening next month.
Little Lyons Childcare has announced a grand opening date of Sept 3. There will also be a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house Aug. 27.
Little Lyons has been in the planning stage for over a year and the construction/renovation/staffing stage for several months after the closure of the Maynard Early Childhood Center. The Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce and Ignite Emporia have focused on a round-the-clock daycare facility to help both employers and employees.
The opening date was delayed until a final inspection last week by the Office of State Fire Marshal.
