Besides helping upcoming construction work for Southwick House, the Morgan Wilkie Fund is helping to fund an unrelated project for another Emporia nonprofit.
The Wilkie Fund has donated money to help Hetlinger Developmental Services buy an indoor therapeutic swing for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities involved in Hetlinger’s retirement program.
The individual totals have not been announced, but the Emporia Community Foundation lists the combined total at $3,800.
The Wilkie Fund was created by Clara Wilkie Sharpe in memory of her parents and late husband to help provide care for elderly residents, women and children in Emporia and across Lyon County.
More information about the Wilkie Fund is available online at emporiacf.org or by calling 620-342-9304.
