Emporia State Unviersity’s Live at the Hive Kickoff Event is changing locations.
Prospects for air temperatures just under 100 degrees and heat index readings between 105-110 have prompted organizers to move the event from downtown Emporia to Champions Landing, 1801 Rural. This means Live at the Hive will have activities inside and outside. ESU will have free water and a misting cooler to help attendees stay cool during the event from 4-7:30 pm.
Activities Saturday include chances to meet student-athletes and coaches with ESU football, soccer and cross-country programs, as well opportunities to sample food and drinks from local vendors, play games and win prizes. Tagan Trahoon, the sideline reporter on Mix 104.9 FM’s Hornet football broadcasts, and ESU Distinguished Alumni and Country Music Hall of Famer Mike Law, will emcee the event.
ESU Associate Athletics Director and Head of Media Relations Don Weast joins KVOE’s Morning Show at 6:40 am Friday to discuss Live at the Hive.
