A motorcycle rider suffered life-threatening injures during a crash in south-central Emporia on Tuesday.
Emporia Police and Emporia Fire responded to 17 South State around 5:10 pm. Emporia Fire Capt. Wade Schmidt says the rider lost control, went off the street and crashed into a vehicle parked in a driveway.
Police Capt. Ray Mattas says 22-year-old Trevor Stevens was southbound and lost control for currently unlisted reasons before hitting a van. Stevens was not wearing a helmet and was not licensed to operate a motorcycle.
Stevens was taken by ambulance to Newman Regional Health and then airlifted to an unspecified hospital. Additional details are pending through Emporia Police.
