The Chase County Old School Development District is inviting everyone to Cottonwood Falls Friday night for a community party and concert featuring a notable local group.
The Chase County Old School Development District will be hosting a benefit concert at the Cottonwood Falls Community Center, 518 3rd Street. The concert will feature WEDA Skirts who have volunteered their time for the event. Because of this, 100 percent of proceeds from Friday’s concert and related activities will go to benefit renovations at the 1930 school building which is being converted into apartment units and a community center, a project which has been in development for well over a decade now.
While previewing the concert on a recent installment of KVOE’s Talk of Emporia, Old School Development District Spokesperson Lee Anne Coester updated progress on the renovations saying they finish line is in sight.
The concert will run from 7:30 pm to 9 pm with tickets available for $20 for individuals 13 and older and $15 for children ages 3-12. Along with the concert, activities will also include ping pong, cornhole, pickleball and board games.
Beer, cocktails, sweets and homemade bierocks will also be available for purchase. For more information contact Coester by calling 620-340-9634.
