Flint Hills Technical College has a sizeable donation coming from Lyon County following action by county commissioners Thursday morning.
As part of their regular meeting agenda, commissioners unanimously approved a $100,000 allocation to the college for its maintenance facility building. The allocation was budgeted for and is paid with dollars from the county sales tax account.
Separately, commissioners also approved the purchase of a new software system for family court totaling $4,000 following a request from District Court Administrator Ruth Wheeler. The county’s dollars will be reimbursed through a State of Kansas Office of Judicial Administration grant.
Lyon County Appraiser Ryan Janzen also presented information on his office being in substantial compliance. One executive session for legal matters was also held with no action taken.
Commissioners will reconvene for their weekly action meeting next Thursday at 9 am inside of the Lyon County Courthouse Commission Chambers.
