The Emporia State volleyball team has been picked ninth in the 2024 MIAA Volleyball Preseason Poll. Central Missouri was picked first and received five first-place votes followed by Central Oklahoma with three first-place votes. Nebraska-Kearney was picked third and also received three first-place votes while Washburn was picked fourth and took the last first-place vote. League newcomer Arkansas Fort-Smith was picked seventh as the Lady Lions join the league as full members transferring from the Lone Star Conference. The Lady Hornets improved their win total by nine in 2023 and won six more games in MIAA play on the way to an eighth-place finish in the league and a berth in the MIAA Tournament. Emporia State opens the season at Rockhurst September 5 at 6:30 p.m.
