Emporia Spartan Boxing took three boxers to Wichita for competition Saturday.
Gio Cervantes extended his winning streak to four in a row with a first-round stoppage victory. This was Cervantes’ second bout in as many weeks after he earned a decision win one week earlier in Topeka.
2023 Silver Gloves national runner-up Zaiden Ortiz fought in his fifth career bout at 160 lbs. Ortiz fought hard but would come up short suffering a decision loss.
Ortiz is now 3-2 in his career.
Also taking to the ring Saturday was 15-year-old Xavier Cheney at 145 lbs who
