The Chase County football team seeks a deeper run in the postseason after a 7-4 season in 2023.
Derick Budke enters the second season of his second stint as the head coach of the Bulldogs and returns a good core of players, whose season ended in the sectional round of the 8-Man Division I playoffs to Cair Parvel. The Bulldogs graduated Tag Groh, Brock Griffin, Nano Zuniga, and Micah Cauthers. Returning for the Bulldogs are quarterback/defensive back Wyatt Griffin, running back/defensive back Luke Budke, lineman Colton Kewley and running back/linebacker Guthrie Danford.
Chase County’s schedule will be tough at the start facing the 8-Man Division I State Champions, Lyndon, and the 8-Man Division II State Champions Axtell. The Bulldogs will also face 8-Man Division II powerhouse Little River in their season opener. Chase County will be featured on KVOE’s Area Game of the Week on Country 101.7 FM in October with games against Northern Heights and Madison.
