CareArc’s new pharmacy could receive a financial boost if the health center’s pending application for grant dollars is approved.
As part of the CareArc monthly board meeting Tuesday afternoon, members approved CEO Renee Hively to apply to a Community Care Network of Kansas grant. CareArc will be seeking $100,000 which, if approved, will go towards the center’s new pharmacy project.
Hively notes the grant is a 50-cent per dollar match, meaning CareArc would have to contribute $50,000. That said, Hively believes the pharmacy is an investment that will likely pay itself off in the future, however, it will likely take some time to do so.
Word on when CareArc may hear back on the status of the application is currently pending.
In other business Tuesday, board members received the monthly financial report which saw a net gain of $80,000 for July. Total revenues for the month came in at $897,000 with total expenses of $817,000.
Year-to-date, the health center has had a net gain of $530,000.
Also Tuesday board members reviewed the monthly clinic reports, as well as reports for human resources, continuous quality improvement and 340B prescription audits. The board also discussed comparison bids for training procurement and reviewed the results of an employee satisfaction survey.
The CareArc Board of Directors will reconvene in September.
