An Emporia man accused of attempted aggravated kidnapping, aggravated battery and other charges will have his next hearing in Lyon County District Court in early October.
Juan Baza-Morales was set for an Oct. 4 pretrial and arraignment hearing after his preliminary hearing Wednesday. Judge Doug Jones also denied a defense motion to remove GPS monitoring as part of bond conditions.
Baza-Morales currently faces five counts, one each of aggravated battery, aggravated assault, attempted aggravated kidnapping, aggravated witness intimidation and criminal threat. Charges follow an alleged incident April 4.
