After starting the 2023 season 4-0, the Madison football team finished the season with a 5-4 record, losing its final four regular season games.
As head coach Nate Teichgraeber enters his second season guiding the Bulldogs, expectations remain high despite key pieces gone due to graduation. The Bulldogs return seniors Colton Isch, Packer Bolinger, and Cade Hurlburt, and juniors Octavian Dean, Lane Smith, and Drake Loveall.
Madison’s first three games of the season feature tests at Lebo and Burlingame while also hosting Hartford. District play for the Bulldogs includes hosting defending 8-Man Division State Champion Lyndon and Chase County and Northern Heights, who returns to the Lyon County League and will be playing its first season of 8-man football.
Madison will be featured three times on KVOE’s Area Game of the Week on Country 101.7 FM on Sept. 20 at Burlingame, Oct. 4 at Northern Heights, and Oct. 25 vs. Chase County. The Bulldogs open the season at Lebo on Sept. 6.
