Deep runs into the postseason have been a tradition for Olpe.
The Eagles finished 2023 with an 8-3 record falling in the sectional round of the Class 1A playoffs to Jefferson County North.
Olpe returns starting quarterback Dexton Hoelting, who missed a majority of the 2023 season due to an injury. Also returning include Jesse Kuhlmann, Kale Weakley, Colton Redeker, Eli Markowitz, Brayden Lienemann, Jaiden Kurzen, and Abbott Bailey.
The Eagles will be tested early with Osage City serving as their season opener. Olpe will also play three teams making its move from 8-man to 11-man, South Sumner (Sept. 13), Maranatha (Oct. 4) and Cair Paravel (Oct. 18). District play is highlighted by games with Wabaunsee (Sept. 27), Mission Valley (Oct. 11) and Rossville (Oct. 18).
Olpe will be featured twice on KVOE’s Area Game of the Week, both home games with Osage City (Sept. 6) and Mission Valley (Oct. 11).
