A motions hearing is next in the court process for the Topeka man accused of aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and other charges after an alleged incident in Emporia this past spring.
Tyler Seifert will return to Lyon County District Court at 9:30 am October 1. The hearing was set during Seifert’s latest appearance in district court Friday before Judge Laura Miser who also set potential trial dates of November 4 and November 25 as Seifert is facing several charges related to an alleged incident from late April.
The incident reportedly occurred in the 700 block of State Street and led to one person suffering a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The alleged victim was taken to Newman Regional Health and Seifert also allegedly barricaded himself and several other people inside the house before surrendering to authorities.
Seifert currently faces nine total counts including single counts of aggravated robbery, aggravated battery, aggravated residential burglary, criminal discharge of a weapon and criminal threat. He is also charged with four counts of aggravated assault. A kidnapping count was dropped in the case.
