The countdown to game day for Emporia High is quickly approaching.
As the Spartans prepare for game week, they held a Red and Black Scrimmage on Saturday. The Spartans scrimmaged for 40 minutes to conclude the community event that featured scrimmages from the Mighty Spartans 4th and 5th grade teams, the Emporia Recreation’s 6th grade tackle football team, and the Emporia Middle School Junior Spartans.
Emporia High coach Kaden Glinsmann said it was a great morning of festivities.
The scrimmage comes after the Spartans traveled to Wichita for a jamboree featuring Wichita Heights, Garden City and Andover. Glinsmann said the Spartans have taken a step in the right direction heading into game week.
